SALON DU CYCLE – Stand 243

[A purely typographic advertisement in a single ruled frame, mixing many faces: condensed capitals for the firm’s name over a rule, light sans-serif for the company line and the parts list, bold Clarendon for the town and “70 ANS D’EXISTENCE”, and an italic for the closing claim. The parts are set in two columns of roman and condensed capitals on either side of an oval trademark, outlined in a single rule, lettered “MARQUE” and “DÉPOSÉE” along its upper and lower edges around a large “R.F.G.”. The stand line is in heavy sans-serif at the foot. No signature or agency mark. Type and a frame from the reverse of the leaf show through the paper.]

[This advertisement shares page 124 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Goer, Cizeron and Gallet, each held here as its own record.]
