PWB

[A ruled advertisement in black and white, wider than tall, framed by a heavy black rule that runs down the left edge and along the right and bottom edges. The word “Seules” stands at the top left in a heavy italic script followed by a row of dots. At the left a halftone photograph shows a ring-shaped ball retainer seen from above, a dark ring of ten or so evenly spaced balls held between flat pale segments, with a hexagonal opening at its center in which the letters “PWB” are drawn in thin outline capitals. At the right the product claims are set in tall, narrow heavy capitals for the two product names, with italic lines between them and plain capitals and a bold serif line below. A round bullet separates this block from the sole agent’s line, set in bold type, with the agent’s name in large heavy capitals and the town in spaced capitals beneath. No artist signature is visible and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 202 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Vita and Chaluret, each held here as its own record, and others for a dealer’s discount notice for the Salon, the Mochet microcar and P.C. spark-plug lead clamps.]
