This is a magazine article, so its running text is summarized here rather than reproduced; the headline, byline, specifications and scores are transcribed as printed.
A note in L’Officiel du cycle, 6 July 1957, page 6, “Une innovation de plus chez Lucer”: the Spécial Texas, an American-type children’s bicycle with Mafac brakes and a full chain case, sold in a plastic cover, with a photograph and Lucer’s range of children’s machines. The heading and range list are transcribed as printed; the text is summarized in Ebykr’s words.

[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. A short product note: the strong success of the “Lucer” children’s models has led the firm’s management to develop a new American-type children’s bicycle, the “Spécial Texas”. It is fitted with 2,25 x 19 tires, “Mafac” brakes, a fully enclosing chain case (carter) and a 1/2 relevé (half-raised) handlebar with a reversible stem, and the note rates it the best that can be done for comfort. It is offered in three versions, Garçonnet (boy’s), Berceau (cradle frame) and Mixte, and is said to be designed to satisfy the most demanding buyer. A further novelty: on request the “Spécial Texas” is delivered in a “Cithène” type plastic cover, which besides making a fine display in the shop lets the owner store the machine in a cellar or an attic over the winter without damp getting at it. The note reminds dealers that “Lucer” cycles and motos alone offer a range of the models listed, in sizes from 450 to 600 and in Berceau, Mixte and Garçonnet frames, all available in five colors (en 5 couleurs), and that every Lucer children’s bicycle has a brazed-on luggage carrier (porte-bagage soudé) and a large chain case, a “Lucer” exclusive.]
[One halftone photograph of the “Spécial Texas” in side view: a boy’s bicycle with balloon tires, deep fenders, a rear carrier, a narrow box or panel along the down tube lettered with the model name (the first word unclear, the second apparently “TEXAS”), a full chain case carrying a small figure and the word “TEXAS” after a blurred first word, and a stand under the rear wheel. No signature or monogram.]
[The right half of the page carries an item on silencers and a table of motorcycle prices, and the foot of the page a table of production statistics, not part of this record.]
