LE CHEMINEAU

Gric [?]

Imp. J. Le Hénaff & [?] Cie – St Etienne.

[A grinning barefoot tramp in rags waves from a ramshackle yellow bicycle lashed together with cord, a goat’s skull mounted at the front of its frame, as he speeds down a mountain road under a starry night sky. A milestone stands at the roadside at lower left and the whole scene fills a dark panel inside a pale orange border on this window transfer.]

INSTRUCTIONS

POUR COLLER LES TABLEAUX TRANSPARENTS SUR LES VITRES

1° Nettoyer avec le plus grand soin la vitre à l’endroit où le transparent doit être appliqué ;

2° Plonger le tableau dans l’eau ;

3° Appliquer rapidement le tableau sur la vitre ;

4° Chasser les bulles d’air et d’eau avec un tampon ou simplement avec la paume de la main.

[The reverse of the window transfer shows the front picture and slogan through the paper in mirror image. A block of instructions for applying the transfer to glass is printed in the center, also in mirror image, and is read here from a flipped copy.]
