A wide halftone photograph fills the head of the panel and shows a long two-story factory building with a flat roof, rows of small horizontal windows and a lower office wing at the left whose gable carries a lettered sign that is too faint to read. Below it the firm’s name stands across the panel in heavy bold sans-serif capitals with a shadowed double outline, followed by the street address in lighter roman type and the telephone line in small widely spaced capitals at the right. The body is set in shadowed capitals and italic capitals of several sizes: an italic “CONSTRUCTEURS” is centered, the lines about the cycle marques and the engine makers are set in two blocks joined by braces, and a line of heavy slab capitals follows, ending in a small ruled ornament with a central cross. At the lower left a round emblem, drawn in halftone, carries a winged figure above the word “MOTUL” in heavy white letters on a dark band with the words “MOTOR OIL” beneath. At the lower right a ruled line sits under the year-end announcement, the price line is set in large light capitals with the figure in bold, and two italic lines close the panel.
