SALON 1952 – Porte de Versailles – Hall du Cycle – Stand no 90

[A ruled advertisement in black on the cream stock, the frame a thin rule with a heavy black bar closing it at the head and the foot. At the top right the firm’s mark is a long arrow drawn as a line engraving, its feathered flight carrying “CH.” in a small panel and the shaft running into a bold shaded italic “GARIN” that ends in the arrowhead; “présente…” is set in italic to its right. No drawing of a machine appears. The two product lines, “ses BICYCLETTES” and “ses CYCLOMOTEURS”, are set in condensed sans-serif capitals and separated by a small typographic ornament of dots and dashes; between them sits a small ruled box with a shadow rule along its left and top sides holding the Electrobrox frame claim and the patent number. “Tous les Types” and “Tous les âges” are in shaded italic. “NOUVELLE FORMULE” is in heavy slab-serif capitals, and the list of five auxiliary engine makes is bracketed off at the right by a tall drawn brace. The firm’s name and address sit at the lower left under an italic “Documentation sur demande :” line, with the Salon and stand line in letter-spaced bold across the foot. No second color is used. Nothing shows through from the reverse of the leaf, and the printed page number 92 falls just below the panel.]

[This advertisement shares page 92 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for New-Map motorcycles.]
