[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a wide panel set in a single thin rule. Two chainsets are drawn in fine line engraving with light hatching and stand at the left and right ends of the panel, each shown upright with a toothed chainring, a three-armed spider with bolt heads at the arm tips and a single crank arm hanging straight down to a round pedal eye. The left chainring is a simple plain ring with large open spaces between the arms. The right chainring is drawn with a second inner ring of teeth set inside the outer ring, with slots cut along each arm. Tiny engraved lettering runs along the crank arms and cannot be read. Between them the text is centered in a column. “MANIVELLES” is set in widely spaced roman capitals, with the two lines below it in smaller spaced capitals and “QUALITÉ” under them. A black plaque with a scalloped outline carries the word “PROFESSIONNELS” in large condensed reversed-out capitals. Beneath the plaque the firm name and street sit in large bold roman type with the town in capitals between dashes below. A short caption in light roman type at the lower left, set either side of the left crank arm, names the new model. No artist signature or agency mark appears, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
