[A wide shallow advertisement in black on cream, framed by a single rule, with a drawing at each end and the type between them. At the left a chainset is drawn in plain line engraving, seen square on from the outside: a single toothed ring on a three-armed spider, the arms and the bolt bosses shaded with short parallel strokes, the right-hand crank reaching straight down to its pedal eye. At the right a double chainset is drawn in the same manner, the second ring showing behind the first, its crank also hanging straight down and lettered along its face with a word that cannot be made out and is so illisible. The heading stands at the top in letter-spaced sans serif capitals, with two further lines under it, the second E of “ÉPROUVEES” set without its accent. Below them the word “PROFESSIONNELS” is reversed out in heavy condensed capitals from a solid black tablet with concave sides and squared ends. The caption for the new pattern is set small in two lines at the lower left, under the first drawing, and the maker’s name, street address and town close the panel on two lines, the surname in large bold capitals and the town between dashes. The leaf carries heavy show-through from the reverse, whole lines of reversed text standing behind the drawings and the type. No second color, no agency mark and no artist’s signature appear.]
[This advertisement shares page 172 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Blindex, Bufflier, ALC, Maxi-Car, EMD, NAP and Elté, each held here as its own record.]
