[A tall narrow ruled advertisement in black and white, set in a single ruled frame whose right side is broken by a step near the top. The head is in heavy sans-serif capitals: “VOITURE MÉCANIQUE” over “DUPONT” in very large, wide capitals. Below it “à trois vitesses” is lettered in a bold slanted script and “MODÈLE PERFECTIONNÉ” in lighter capitals. The central drawing is a line engraving of a pedal tricycle seen from the side: two spoked wheels at the rear on either side of a basket-backed seat with a tall slatted backrest, a steering wheel on a long column, a flat footboard and a single small spoked front wheel on a fork at the right. Under the drawing “Permet de monter les côtes” is set in a hand-lettered lowercase face and “sans effort, sans fatigue” in slanted script with a heavy rule beneath it. Small black dots separate the lines. “2 FREINS et PORTE BAGAGES” is in bold sans-serif capitals, followed by the address in larger capitals and the telephone and branch lines in small, heavy capitals. A line in bold italic type, “Demandez la notice 42”, sits below the frame. No signature or agency mark is visible.]

[This advertisement shares page 214 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Reydel, H. Arnaud and Stella, each held here as its own record, and others for Ferrand gloves and clothing, Marvel mascots for scooters and motorcycles and Bollée piston rings.]
