[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a tall panel inside a thin rule with rounded corners, the rule broken at the head to let the trade mark through and broken again at the foot for the closing line. The mark is a line engraving of the map of France, its field filled with close horizontal ruling, carrying the three letters S, I and B in small solid blocks across the middle and, above them, a row of five balls of diminishing size on each side of a larger ball drawn with highlights. The selling line is lettered in a large sloping handwritten script on three lines that rise to the right. The company’s name follows in letterspaced sans-serif capitals, with the capital and legal form on a ruled line beneath it, then the works address and telephone and the registered office address and telephone, the labels set in sloped capitals and the rest in light spaced capitals and roman. A second block in light sloped capitals names the specialty of balls for pens, with the steels and the stones below it. A small line engraving of a cornucopia, ruled in fine lines, spills a stream of balls of diminishing size toward the lower right above the closing line, which is set in letterspaced capitals across the foot. No second color is used, no signature or agency mark appears, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 150 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Nervar, Picard-Fayolle and Goer, each held here as its own record.]
