INTRODUCTION
Within this catalog we attempt to accomplish two goals. Our first goal is to offer quality bicycle items at a reasonable price. We have carefully studied the most recent developments within the bicycle industry, and from these we have selected products which we feel will be the most popular among serious cyclists for years to come. Many items or concepts have never before been available to the American cycling public!
This year is an important and active year for the cyclist. For the racer it is an Olympic year; for the tourist it is Bikecentennial.
During this active year the demand for technical information will be at its peak. And thus our second goal is to offer the cyclist pages of useful information so that he is better qualified to select the proper equipment for his cycling needs.
It is with these thoughts in mind that we will continue to keep the cyclist abreast of new developments for years to come.

THE NEW PUNCTURE RESISTANT TUBULARS BY
Clement
After years of research, the World’s leading tubular manufacturer has finally developed the puncture resistant “Latex Tube.” This tube has such elasticity that when the tread is penetrated by a sharp object, the tube stretches with the object and thus is not punctured.
This new tube was ridden by most professional riders throughout the 1975 European racing circuit, including the Tour de France. For the first time, it is now being offered to the cycling public.
Because these tubes are not filled with a liquid, the weight of Clement sew-ups will not increase. In fact, tubulars which previously had the butyl tubes will be reduced by approximately 40 grams because of the lighter natural rubber latex tube.
Most Clement tubulars will now come with a detachable Presta Valve pictured on page 4.
Sew-up tires are still susceptible to casing failures due to very large cuts. However, the new latex tube has improved the World’s finest cycling tubular 100% by making it puncture resistant.
Because of this new process, more serious cyclists will seek the weight and pressure advantages which tubulars offer.
COTTON VULCANIZED ROAD TUBULARS (Sew-Ups)
Cat. No. | Model | Weight Grams | Tread Pattern | Price
T-01 | Clement Gran Sport 65 (Latex tube) | 380 | Gran Sport | $10.98
The heaviest tubular made by Clement. It has a raised rib tread where the tire contacts the road, thus increasing tire mileage.
T-02 | Clement Elvezia 75 (Latex tube) | 330 | Herringbone File | 10.98
Very popular. The Elvezia 75 is a much improved tire over the older Elvezia model. There’s a new tread pattern and the weight is lighter. This is a good medium-weight tire with a low price.
T-03 | Clement Veltro (Extra Primo)(Latex tube) | 330 | Herringbone | 11.98
A good all around tire. A nice casing, which is narrower in profile than above.

[Clement puncture resistant latex tube tubulars, with three photographs of a tubular tire riding over a board of upturned nails and a price table of road tubulars with drawings of their treads. The Clement script logotype heads the page; the sidewalls in the photographs read “CLEMENT CRITERIUM” and the drawings are labeled with the Gran Sport 65, Elvezia 75 and Veltro names.]
— Page 4 —
Cat. No. | Model | Weight Grams | Tread Pattern | Price
T-05 | Clement 50 (Latex tube) | 290 | Ribbed | 13.98
Well made medium-light weight tire. This is one of the best known tubulars. Good for touring or training.
T-06 | Clement 70 (Latex tube) | 260 | Herringbone File | 14.98
The lightest low priced cotton. Another Clement classic. A very responsive tire, which is excellent for training or racing.
COTTON NON-VULCANIZED ROAD TUBULARS
All these Sew-ups have very fine cotton strands for casing strength.
T-07 | Strada 66 (Latex tube) | 230 | Pointed Shagreen | 21.98
The lightest of the finest cotton tubulars made. Racing tire.
T-08 | Clement Criterium (Latex tube) | 260 | Ribbed | 21.98
Racing tire with the rib tread. It is the fastest of the three Criterium Sew-ups.
T-09 | Clement Criterium (Latex tube) | 260 | Herringbone | 21.98
Racing tire. A very good gripping tire in wet or dry.
T-10 | Clement Criterium (Latex tube) | 260 | Mixed | 21.98
Racing tubular. A fast tire, yet good gripping on the corners.
T-11 | Clement Criterium (Latex tube) | 280 | Mixed | 21.98
Racing tubular. Like T-10, but 20 grams heavier.
T-12 | Clement Paris-Roubaix (Latex tube) | 290 | Ribbed | 21.98
The most durable of Clement’s cotton tires. For touring, training or racing.
T-13 | Clement Grifo Neve (Latex tube) | 340 | Sculptured | 21.98
For Cyclo-Cross–Rear Wheel
T-14 | Clement Grifo 61 (Latex tube) | 340 | Diamond Point | 21.98
For Cyclo-Cross–Front Wheel
TRACK SILK AND COTTON TUBULARS
T-15 | 1 Clement Seta Extra | 145 | Smooth | 29.98
T-16 | 2 Clement Seta (White) | 150 | Smooth | 25.98
T-17 | 3 Clement Seta | 175 | Smooth | 25.98
T-18 | 3 Clement Seta | 175 | Shagreen | 25.98
T-19 | 7 Clement Cotton (White) | 150 | Smooth | 20.98
T-20 | 8bis Clement Cotton | 190 | Shagreen | 20.98
T-21 | 9 Clement Cotton | 200 | Smooth | 20.98
SILK (SETA) ROAD TUBULARS
T-22 | Clement Campionato del Mondo Seta | 290 | Ribbed | 27.50
(Latex tube) The best known touring tire on the road. Tire wear and dependability are excellent for longer rides. Will outwear cotton tires.

[Clement and Strada tubular tires in a price table, from the Clement 50 to the Campionato del Mondo Seta, with sections for cotton road, track and silk road tubulars and drawings of the tire treads down the right margin. The drawn tires carry the model names on their sidewalls, such as “CLEMENT 50”, “CLEMENT 70” and “CLEMENT GRIFO 61”.]
— Page 5 —
Cat. No. | Model | Weight Grams | Tread Pattern | Price
T-23 | Clement Paris-Roubaix Seta (Latex tube) | 275 | Ribbed | 27.50
Very similar to Del Mondo. This tire is 15 grs. lighter because tread does not come up as far on sidewalls. Narrower profile than Del Mondo.
T-24 | Clement Criterium Seta (Latex tube) | 250 | Mixed | 27.50
The 250 Criterium Seta is the most popular road racing tire made. Its mixed tread has several nice features. The ribbed section makes this tubular fast on the straightaways, and the Herringbone section grips in the turns.
T-25 | Clement Criterium Seta (Latex tube) | 250 | Herringbone | 27.50
Same as the above tire except for the Herringbone tread. A very good gripping tire, even when the roads are slick.
T-26 | Clement Criterium Seta (Latex tube) | 220 | Mat | 27.50
Same casing as the 250, but with a lighter tread. The mat design is the fastest tread of all. This tire should become more popular than the 250 Seta because the price is the same, the tire is lighter, and now the tube is puncture resistant.
T-27 | Clement Criterium Seta Extra (Latex tube) | 230 | Mixed | 30.98
All of the Seta Extras have a narrower and lighter silk casing than the Criterium Setas. Tread thickness is about the same as the 250s. Again the mixed tread is the most popular, a fast rolling and yet good cornering design.
T-28 | Clement Criterium Seta Extra (Latex tube) | 230 | Herringbone | 30.98
Same as the above tire except for the Herringbone tread. This tread increases traction and grip.
T-29 | Clement Criterium Seta Extra (Latex tube) | 195 | Mat | 30.98
Same casing as the 230 Seta Extras, but with a much lighter tread. This tire is designed for smooth surfaces or light riders.
T-30 | Clement Campionissimo Seta Extra | 185 | Herringbone | 35.98
(Latex tube) This tire and the next one have a much lighter casing than the 230s and the 195. The tread is heavier than that of the 195 Seta Extra. Can be used for Criteriums if surface is excellent. Also a nice time trialing tire. Again, the Herringbone is the best gripping tread.
T-31 | Clement Nuovo Super Seta Extra | 165 | Mat | 35.98
(Latex tube) Same casing as Campionissimo, but a thinner tread. The lightest road silk made. Best for time trialing. Will sustain high pressure.

THE NEW PUNCTURE RESISTANT TUBULARS BY
VITTORIA
Vittoria has made two revolutionary improvements to achieve their new puncture resistant tubular. First they invented a new liquid sealant which immediately seals punctured tubes without loss of air. Only 5 grams of this solution are necessary.
They then required a means to insert their substance inside the presta tube. All their tubulars will now be manufactured with the New improved presta valve. This valve can be unscrewed to permit the injection of additional fluid or the replacement of a broken valve tip. All Vittoria tubulars will now come with the special sealant.
Because of Vittoria, it is now possible to obtain sew-ups which are not only puncture resistant, but which also have the butyl tube. Unlike the natural tube, this tube rarely needs to be pumped.
Vittoria has always offered top quality, light, well priced tubulars. However, they now make patching tubulars a thing of the past.

VITTORIA HIGH PRESSURE CLINCHERS
Cat. No. | Model | Maximum Tire Pressure | Weight Grams | Tread Pattern | Price
T-56 | Record 27″ x 1 1/8″ | 110 p.s.i. | 280 | Mixed | $10.98
This tire has become popular
amongst the tourists because of its
light weight, high tire pressure, and
ease of patching. Once installed on
the wheel, it is often mistaken for a
tubular because of the identical
tread and profile.
T-57 | Record 700C | 110 p.s.i. | 280 | Mixed | 10.98
This tire is a duplicate of the 27″
x 1 1/8″ except for size. The 700C
size is identical to the tubular tire,
and it is most often used by the
rider who has a set of both tubular
and clincher wheels.
T-58 VITTORIA Puncture Resistant Tube
This high pressure tube is designed for the 700C and 27″ Record Clinchers. By having a narrower tube it is much easier
to seat the tire. This tube is available only with the new detachable presta valve. Vittoria’s sealant is included to provide
you with many flat free miles. $2.98
Tire Care
1. The recommended tire pressure for tubulars is 100 p.s.i. for inexpensive cottons, 100–140 p.s.i. for good cottons,
and 100–180 p.s.i. for silks. Major factors affecting the range of pressure are the rider’s weight and road conditions.
You should carry 10–20 p.s.i. more pressure in your rear tire.
2. Better tires should be deflated after each ride or race and not left in direct sunlight.
3. Unused tubulars must be stored in a dark and cool room.

FREEWHEELS-Steel
F-01 Sun Tour Pro Compe (Oro)
This cluster is the least expensive of all the ones we carry. It is the heaviest in weight and does not go down to a thirteen tooth cog. But the advantages are the easy installation of the sprockets and the availability of extra cogs. This freewheel has the largest available sprocket (34 tooth) of all our freewheels, thus an excellent choice for the person who needs an extra low gear.

F-03 $1.50
Regina Super Corsa Oro
Regina has been around the longest of all freewheels. It is approximately 30–60 grams lighter than Sun Tour Pro Compe, the Sun Tour Winner with steel cogs, and the Shimano Dur Ace Freewheels. Regina can be made into either a 5-speed or 6-speed freewheel. Also a 13 tooth cog can be used. Regina Oro is the most popular racing cluster used.
Everest Oro
Everest Freewheels are just about a copy of Regina. It is as light and also can be made into a 5- or 6-speed. Thirteen tooth sprockets are the smallest too. This cluster is smoother and priced much lower than the Regina. Sprockets are not interchangeable with Regina.

FREEWHEELS-Dural and Titanium
There have been four alloy clusters on the market. They are the Sun Tour Winner (average wt. 11.3 oz.), Regina Record (average wt. 8.4 oz.), Zeus 2000 (average wt. 7.7 oz.), Maillard 700 (average wt. 6.4 oz.). The Regina Record has been discontinued and replaced by the Regina Titanium cluster (average wt. 8.5 oz.). One more Dural cluster was just introduced by Everest (average wt. 7.5 oz.). We carry three of the five clusters. We do not carry the Sun Tour Winner because the weight is only 20 to 50 gr. lighter than the Regina and Everest steel clusters. Zeus cogs have wear problems.
Regina Titanium Cluster
F-10 | 5-speed | $111.00
F-11 | 6-speed | $121.00
This is the only titanium cluster made. Many of the other clusters have claimed that they have titanium cogs, but this is not true. Titanium costs much more than Dural anodized cogs. The life expectancy of this new cluster will be longer than any Dural or Steel Freewheel. The price is the highest of all clusters made, but it is the best. This freewheel has been tested by the pros in Europe, and has never been sold in the U.S. The cogs are interchangeable with the steel freewheels. Average weight is 8.5 oz.
• any ratio can be ordered; 5-speed or 6-speed
• smallest sprocket is 13 tooth
• sprockets 25, 27, 29 are not available
• largest sprocket is 31 tooth
Maillard 700
F-12 | 5-speed | $100.00
F-13 | 6-speed | $110.00
The world’s lightest cluster made. The Dural cogs are electrolytically treated for a toughened surface. This cluster was the most widely used in the 1975 Tour de France. Average weight is 6.4 oz.
• all freewheels are English threaded
• smallest cog for 5-speed is 14 tooth
• smallest cog for 6-speed is 13 tooth
F-14 • freewheel remover key $10.00
• any ratio can be ordered
• no sprockets above 26 tooth
F-15 • spare cogs $12.00 each
Everest Dural
F-16 | 5-speed | Silver | $54.00
F-17 | | Dark | $57.00
F-18 | 6-speed | Silver | $60.00
F-19 | | Dark | $63.00
Everest makes two differently colored freewheels; silver and darkened gold. The darkened gold is $3.00 more because of an extra hardened toughening. The Everest is the only inexpensive light-weight freewheel that we carry. We feel that this cluster will be very popular. Average weight is 7.5 oz.
• any ratio can be ordered
• sprocket 27, 29 not available
• smallest cog is 13
• largest cog is 30

Alas Cranksets (Complete)
With the introduction of three new cranksets, the Italian firm of Alas has attempted to tackle a completely new concept. First, the three sets come with maintenance-free sealed bearings. Second, the weight savings is very significant. Two of the three sets listed below have titanium spindles and bolts, and alloy cups. The third has a steel spindle which permits no flex, and alloy cups. All of the chainrings are interchangeable with Campagnolo. These sets will be available as of May 15, 1976.
CS-09 Alas “Edramon” $120.00
This set is the same as the Alas “Super Competizione” except that the chainrings are carefully drilled to lighten weight and improve aesthetic appeal. Strength is maintained. Colnago is installing this on their new professional bikes.
CS-10 Alas “Super Competizione” $100.00
Titantium spindle with sealed bearings. Alloy cups. Titanium crank bolts. Extremely light crankset. Set nicely engraved, but chainwheels not drilled.
CS-11 Alas “Competizione” $90.00
Chainrings not drilled. Steel spindle with sealed bearings, alloy cups. Light crankset.

CS-19 $144.00

The 105 is Stronglight’s innovative contribution to the bicycling industry for 1976. They have examined their well known and top of the line 93 Crankset, and have created a set which is equal to any. First, they have added the satin finish to their set. Aesthetically it now has the appearance to match Campy. Next, they lightened the newly finished chainwheels and improved the appeal by neatly cutting out sections of the chainrings. These chainwheels will interchange with the model 93. Finally, they offer this set with your choice of three bottom bracket sets. The first (CS-17) is their standard steel B.B., the same which comes with the model 93 crankset. The second 105 crankset (CS-18) comes with the B.B. containing both sealed bearings and alloy cups. The result is easy maintenance, stiffness, and light weight. And last, you can order the crankset (CS-19) with the nicest B.B. available; the 1976 model with sealed bearings, alloy cups, titanium crank bolts and most importantly a wide diameter stiff titanium spindle. The end product of CS-19 is an extremely light and polished crankset with the stiffest titanium spindle available.
Stronglight Model 105bis Crankset (Complete) (specs: same as CS-16)
CS-20 $83.00
same as CS-17 but with drilled chainwheels.

BB-01 Campagnolo Nuovo Record $23.98
Available in French, English, or Italian threads. B.B. spindle 68 or 70 mm.
BB-02 Campagnolo Super Record $105.00
Available in French, English, or Italian threads. B.B. spindle 68 or 70 mm. Spindle is of titanium and cups are alloy with pressed in steel races.
BB-03 Stronglight 651
Steel Spindle w/Sealed Bearings $34.98
BB-04 Stronglight 650
Titanium Spindle w/Sealed Bearings $89.98
Available in French, English, or Italian threads. For Spindle length specify B.B. thread and number of chainwheels.
The new Stronglight 651 B.B. should be popular for 1976 and years to come. The steel spindle has sealed bearings like the Phil Wood, but it is lighter because of alloy cups, and surprisingly, it costs less. No special tools are required for installation. A real quality bargain.
Stronglight 650 B.B. is the same as the above except it includes a titanium spindle and bolt set. The previous problem with titanium spindles has been that they’re too flexible. Stronglight has solved this problem by increasing the diameter of the spindle and hollowing out the center. There is a tremendous saving in weight, and the stiffness remains.
BB-05 Alas Steel Spindle w/Sealed Bearings $26.98
Available in French, English, or Italian threads. B.B. spindle 68 or 70 mm. This will become very popular because of its low price, light weight, and trouble-free sealed bearings.
BB-06 Alas Titanium Spindle w/Sealed Bearings $59.98
Available in French, English, or Italian threads. B.B. spindle 68 or 70 mm. Spindle and bolts of titanium, alloy cups. This set is a little more than half the price of Campy Super Record and it has sealed bearings and is lighter.
BB-07 Phil Wood w/Sealed Bearings $35.98
This bottom bracket set is trouble free. It weighs the same as Campy. Available in French, English, or Italian threads. Order B.B. spindle length by chart below:
Number Chainwheels

CINELLI HANDLEBARS
For years Cinelli has led the handlebar and stem industry. Their quality workmanship and beautiful alloy satin finish are attested to by the majority of riders who use their products.
To choose a handlebar for proper width fitting, a general rule is to measure from shoulder blade end to shoulder blade end. However, other factors which can affect the width chosen are personal preference or type of riding. For drop, road riders usually prefer less drop than Criterium racers. For reach, there is almost no difference between the bars.

CINELLI STEMS
The design and finish of this stem are unmatched for aesthetic appeal. When the novice gives a bike a glance, it’s the stem which stands out most; and thus the Cinelli Stem can make the average bicycle a thing of beauty to many people.
For 1976, Cinelli has added a new Model to their stem line, the N 1/Record. For this model the binder bolt is no longer visible, and the handlebar is tightened by an interior wedge. Because of the minimum length required for this wedge, the N 1/Record is manufactured only in lengths 10 cm to 14 cm.
The N 1/A model stem with which every rider is familiar needs no description. Because of its popularity there have been no changes.
To measure proper stem length, the most common measurement taken is to match the elbow to tip of finger length with the front of seat to beginning of handlebar distance. This is an approximate measurement and will vary by type of riding, other body measurements, and personal preference. It is also important to have proper stem diameter. Two diameters are manufactured by Cinelli. Size 22.2 mm fits Italian, English, and Japanese headsets; size 22 mm fits French. When ordering, a size 22.2 mm will be shipped unless French diameter is specified. Cinelli stems will accommodate TTT, SR, or Cinelli Handlebars.

HEADSETS
Italy has come forth with numerous exciting new cycling innovations for 1976. One of the most remarkable is from the firm of Alas. They have created a headset with the Campy-like appearance that is practically the weight of a feather. It’s much less than half the weight of a Campy Record Road Headset, and almost 40% lighter than Campy’s Super Record Headset. At such a weight saving you would expect to pay tremendously, but most amazingly it sells for six dollars less than the Campy Super Record.
Campagnolo has taken their quality road headset, changed the materials to alloy, improved the finish, and added this new version to the Super Record Series. Stronglight and Cinelli offer nicely finished headsets at an excellent price.

with the exception of Universal 61’s and 51’s, all of our brakes have the same approximate brake shoe reach. This reach is designed to fit most professional bicycles. If your bike requires an abnormally long caliper, the Campy rear drop bolt may solve your problem. The Universal 61 and 51 models are long caliper brakes.

Universal
Universal has added a top of the line brake which matches the appearance of Campy. Besides being 68 grams lighter, the finish is actually better. But the most significant improvement is that the center bolt nut and the brake levers are tightened with a 5 mm allen wrench. A cone wrench is used to center the brakes. Both tools come with the set.

C.L.B.
With the C.L.B. Professional, the French have designed a lightweight competition brake which promises to be popular on the racing circuit. This brake is not a copy of any others, but it is a smooth satin finished set which has a unique design. The drilled handles help make this one of the world’s lightest brake sets, 465.5 grams (143.5 grams less than Campy), at an extremely competitive price.
The brake pad has a newly engineered design which allows for long pad wear and excellent response. The taper of this pad permits it to act as a wheel guide, thus eliminating the need for the additional heavy steel guides.

Galli
The manufacture trend for years has been to copy Campy’s braking ability, style, and finish. The Italian company of Galli has accomplished that, and now they have concentrated on producing the world’s lightest competitive brake set. Finally, they have introduced two extremely light quality sets which are both competitively priced. The first is their professional Galli 75 at a mere 500 grams (109 grams less than Campy). They were not completely satisfied with this weight, so they added a titanium center bolt and ergal nuts to achieve their goal of a 450 gram brake, the Galli Ti; the world’s lightest quality brake produced.

Sella Italia (Italian)
This seat has become number one on the European racing circuit, and we now bring it to America. When Sella Italia created their Criterium and Superlight Models, they maintained the comfort, strength and appearance of the Unicanitor.
Their objective was to design a seat which utilized the best materials, was comfortable and durable, yet eliminated the unnecessary heavy weight of its predecessors. Their buffalo padded Criterium seat has been introduced at 320 grams, 120 grams lighter than the comparable Unicanitor.
Next, they took this Criterium saddle and replaced the seat rail with one of ergal. This is their Superlight Model, and it has an additional weight saving of 80 grams. This is the World’s lightest saddle (240 gr.), and it is available with the smooth padded leather covering or the padded covering of buffalo. This seat is in a weight class of its own.

Ideale
Ideale 90’s & 80
In the traditional fashion, Ideale has continued to produce the best in leather saddles. Their two 90 models consist of the finest leather, which is factory treated to decrease the time and pain required to break in the saddle. The riveting is reinforced.
One 90 model includes the standard steel rail. The other 90 has an alloy rail and alloy seat clamp designed for micro seat adjustments. The alloy clamp will fit only the standard type seatpost. This is an extremely light leather seat.

SUPERLIGHT PARTS
(Continued)
Because of new designs and improved materials, it is now possible for the racer and serious tourist to make very significant weight savings on his or her already professional machine. This is why we have emphasized weight as well as quality and reasonable prices.
Listed in the following table are exceptionally durable and light parts gathered from within our catalog. This table is only an illustration to demonstrate how significant weight saving becomes if one were to install all or many of the superlight parts on his frame. The comparison is done on the basis that the rider already has a standard equipped professional bike. If he doesn’t, the weight saving would be even greater.

SHOES
HOW TO ORDER SHOES:
To Insure Proper Fit Please Follow These Directions Carefully:
1. Put on regular cycling socks. Stand up on a piece of paper, having the weight of your body equally distributed on both feet. Holding a pencil vertically, clearly define the outline of each foot.
2. State your shoe size for regular or cycling shoes. Indicate type of shoe next to size.
3. Enclose outline and size with order.
Note: We guarantee a proper fit. Test shoes on carpet to preserve new condition. Shoes worn out-of-doors will not be accepted for exchange or refund.
Detto Pietro is the number one selling shoe in cycling.
SH-01 Detto Pietro “Coppi 7”
The Coppi is constructed of calfskin. It has a double leather sole which is pierced underneath and in the heel for excellent ventilation. Inside the sole there is a steel plate creating an extremely stiff shoe which is very beneficial for competition. Size: 6 to 12 in half size increments. $19.98
SH-02 Detto Pietro Special 72
The Special, like the Coppi, is Detto Pietro’s leading seller. This shoe is a duplicate of the Coppi except for the pre-mounted adjustable cleat. An allen wrench comes with the shoe to allow you to adjust the shoe to the position you desire. This is a competition shoe. Size: 6 to 11½ in half size increments. $24.98
SH-03 Detto Pietro “Special” 74
The 74 is an extremely comfortable shoe. It comes with a waterproof nylon sole rather than leather. Like the Special 72, the shoe is equipped with adjustable cleats. TOURING 1976
Over the years bicycle touring’s popularity has increased at a phenomenal rate. With the creation of the nonprofit Bikecentennial Group, 1976 will offer more for the tourist than ever before. The Bikecentennial Organization has carefully plotted a 4,250 mile route stretching from Astoria, Oregon to Yorktown, Virginia which will hit as many natural and historical American Parks as possible. The route has been divided into 14 tours, so those not feeling ambitious enough can select a section most suitable to their desires. Starting May 14 groups of cyclists will leave daily until August 23. It is expected that 10,000 bicyclists will join in on parts of the route, so there will be groups to suit everybody’s ability. For detailed information about this once-in-200-year event call or write:

pak
For those who are in need of some type of touring equipment, we offer the complete line of Kirtland. Previously, Kirtland has offered the utmost in cycling for the serious tourist who would settle for nothing but the best in quality. This year, Kirtland proudly introduces the Century line of touring packs. The Century line is designed for the economy-minded individual who wants stable riding, accessible, well designed, and convenient touring bags, but can’t afford the Elite Kirtland Tourpaks. The Century packs offer the same features as the Elite line, but with a less expensive execution. The Century Handlebar Bag, although smaller than the Elite, is readily accessible when the bicycle is ridden, has the unique K/T integrated vinyl covered map compartment in the top, is easily mounted, and is stable riding like the Elite Models. The Century Panniers clip on and off the bicycle in seconds, and snap together to form a convenient carrying unit when off the bicycle. The Century Panniers can be identified by the shock cord suspension, in place of the springs on the Elite Models.

Elite Models
For those tourists who will settle for nothing but the utmost in quality, Kirtland has created it. The bags vary in volume to meet your touring needs, but there is no skimping in materials or workmanship. All Elite bags are waterproofed and constructed of 8 oz urethane coated nylon pack cloth with bonded nylon thread.
B-07 | S/T Elite Handlebar Bag | $34.00
Includes K/T Front Bag Support
Weight: 28 oz. (with support)
Volume: 680 cu. in.
Colors: Navy Blue, Red, Bright Yellow
B-08 | L/T Elite Handlebar Bag | $28.50
Includes K/T Front Bag Support
Weight: 24 oz. (with support)
Volume: 600 cu. in.
Colors: Navy Blue, Red, Bright Yellow
The S/T and L/T Elite Handlebar bags are identical except that the S/T model has two zipper pockets on the back and slot pockets on the sides. These additional pockets are designed for tourers who want maximum compartmentalization and are ideal for carrying small and frequently used items.
Both handlebar bags have a large main compartment with a covered zipper which goes around three sides of the pack and is accessible while on the bike, eliminating the need to lean over forward or walk to the front of the bike. This allows easy access while pedaling. There is even a convenient snap for closing the main compartment without the necessity of using the zipper. A large front pocket with zipper access provides additional carrying space.
Another important feature of the Elite Handlebar bags is the full size clear vinyl map pocket on the top of the main compartment which allows the tourer to navigate while riding. The map pocket is accessible only from the inside of the bag thus making it waterproof.
Both models include the K/T front bag support. This support has a stretch cord which attaches to the bike to eliminate the ‘bounce’. The bags can be quickly removed by undoing the velcro fasteners and sliding the bag off the support. There is no need to remove the support.
Both models come with a removable shoulder strap so that the pack can be used as a hand bag when the tourer leaves his bicycle.
B-09 | L/T Elite Panniers | $35.00
As the name implies, our L/T (Light Touring) panniers are for the individual who keeps his load to a minimum in town or on the road. The zippered main compartments and two side pockets provide just the right amount of carrying capacity for those who travel light. The quick on-off the bike feature also makes these panniers ideal for the urban commuter who pedals to work.
Weight: 30 oz.
Volume: 1100 cu. in.
Colors: Navy Blue, Red, Bright Yellow
B-10 | S/T Elite Panniers | $49.00
Our most popular model, the S/T (Standard Touring) panniers are ideal for almost any touring need from distance riding with a full load to weekend or day trips with a medium to small load. With zippered main compartments and six pockets around the sides this model is ideal for carrying almost any size load and keeping such things as spare tools and tires away from other items such as food and clothing.
Weight: 38 oz.
Volume: 2000 cu. in.
Colors: Navy Blue, Red, Bright Yellow

B-11 | G/T Elite Panniers | $58.00
Designed for the bicycle tourer and/or camper who needs a large pack volume yet wants flexibility in load capacity and weight distribution, the G/T (Grand Touring) panniers are the ultimate in touring packs. Designed with a lower center of gravity than our other models for carrying those extra heavy loads, this model has a drawstring opening into the main compartment of each half covered by a top flap with a zipper pocket in it. There are six additional pockets around the sides and the front of the main compartment is “cut away” to provide more than adequate foot clearance for this lower slung pack. This is the ideal set of panniers for those planning extended tours and who need space for such things as tents, sleeping bags, stoves, freeze-dried foods, etc.
Weight: 46 oz.
Volume: 2400+ cu. in.
Colors: Navy Blue, Red, Bright Yellow
