AGENTS DEMANDÉS

[A ruled advertisement in black occupying most of a page. “Métropole” arcs across the head in large outlined block capitals, its “O” formed by a laurel wreath through which a cartoon racing cyclist rides straight at the viewer, waving one arm and taking a bouquet of roses from a hand at the upper left, with “Métropole” on his jersey, a sash streaming from the wreath and two bottles in a cage on his handlebar; the drawing is in pen line. A small handwritten signature sits beside the front wheel, its letters uncertain (perhaps “Lelu” with an underline flourish). The claim is set in a light spaced sans-serif, with “Qualité” in a heavy black brush script between large quotation marks. “Cyclomoteurs VAP et Mistral” runs in bold spaced capitals, and a black band across the foot carries “SIEMM” and the Paris address in white condensed capitals, with “Agents demandés” in italic capitals in a rounded box below.]

[This advertisement shares page 58 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for the Tourist auxiliary engine and the Arsor mudflap for cyclomoteurs, drawn and signed by Daniel Rebour.]
