At the upper left a heavy rounded frame holds the heading “CALE-PIEDS RÉGLABLES ET COURROIE” in bold condensed capitals, “A. MAGNE” in very large capitals and “TYPE PROFESSIONNEL” beneath it, with a line-engraved drawing of an adjustable toe clip and strap at the left, a dotted outline of a shoe behind it and a dimension line labeled “RÉGLABLE” with two measures; script lettering along the strap appears to read “Antonin Magne” but is too small to read with certainty. Below the frame a line of spaced capitals on the champions sits beside a star. The right half carries an italic sales line, the name “MECANO” in large light capitals with the firm’s address beneath it, and a second italic line.
