[A landscape ruled advertisement in black and white. A heavy condensed capital headline runs across the top above a rule, and a thin box frames the lower part of the panel. At the upper left, centered lines of spaced capitals, bold capitals and a bolder condensed line list the firm’s hubs and the machines they suit. Below them a line-drawn cartoon shows a motorcyclist in a helmet and jacket seen from behind, speed lines streaming past him, braking hard so that the rear tire skids, throws up gravel and leaves a ribbed track in a cloud of dust, while a small boy in shorts runs beside the machine with a worried face. At the upper right a large halftone photograph shows a drum-brake hub with a toothed sprocket, a perforated flange, a long brake arm and a threaded axle with nuts. At the foot a slanted brush-script line, “Un freinage”, leads into the word “MAXI” in tall capitals inside an oval; at the right the heading about the new product is set in italic and bold capitals with a short line of lighter type beneath it. The firm’s name, capital and address stand along the bottom in a mix of bold and light roman type. No artist signature is visible.]
