[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. The Salon du Cycle period brought, as usual, receptions by the trade bodies and by a number of industrial firms, reported here in brief with apologies for any omissions; MM. Alexis TANTET, Directeur général, and Jacques CATINAT, Directeur-Rédacteur en chef, represented l’Officiel du Cycle et du Motocycle. On Monday 11 October, at the salons Ledoyen on the Champs-Elysées, the Société S. A. Movea, importer of B.S.A. and Sunbeam, gave a cocktail party at which M. Jean RABUTEAU, its Président-Directeur général, received the firm’s many friends. On Monday 11 October also came the plenary session of the 41e Congrès National of the Fédération Nationale des Vélocistes et Motocistes, the Fédération Nationale du Commerce et de l’Artisanat de l’Automobile and the Syndicat Général des Garagistes-Motoristes, Motocistes et Vélocistes de France et de l’Union française, followed by the traditional banquet before the highest personalities, reported elsewhere in this issue. On Sunday 10 October, at the hôtel George V, the Société Vélosolex, maker of the celebrated cyclomoteur that began the immense spread of this popular means of transport in France, gave a brilliant reception. On Thursday 16 September, for the start of the Tour de France Motos, the Établissements Macombyn gave a cocktail party at the Centre sportif des Forces armées at Joinville, already reported; every military entrant in that event wore Macombyn riding suits. On Friday 15 October, in a large hotel on the Champs-Elysées, the Société Lavalette received and entertained its agents from France and abroad, some six hundred guests who made the vast rooms seem too small; the paragraph runs on to page 11 with the name of M. BOUCHINET-SERREULLES.]

[Two facing pages of social reporting framed by thin ruled borders that end in arrowheads. Page 9 opens with a wide pen-and-ink caricature of seven men in suits at the Salon committee’s press conference, among them a bald man with round spectacles and a lapel badge, a bespectacled man holding a rolled paper and two men with folded arms at the right; the drawing is signed “SISS” at the lower right, and its caption, set in roman with names in small capitals, sits in a ruled box at the left. Below runs the italic report with a large initial “L” and bullet dots between items, and the page closes on a ruled panel whose small heavy italic sans-serif kicker reads “Cocktails, conférences, réunions, banquets” over the bold sans-serif headline “Parmi les Réceptions de la période du Salon Cycle et Moto”. Page 11 carries two more Siss caricatures, each signed “SISS” at the lower right: at the top, labeled “A la réception B.P. – F.F.M.” between asterisk ornaments, a group of men in suits, one smoking a cigarette and one in a bow tie; at the foot, labeled “Au cocktail de la Société des moteurs Le Poulain”, a group of men conversing, a young man in a slim suit standing by a small table with a glass. The two names captions sit in ruled boxes and the italic report fills the band between them; the folio “11” stands at the lower right. No signature other than Siss appears on either page.]
