Son programme officiel (suite)

8. — Technique de la réparation

Méthode de travail et travaux pratiques appliqués

L’exécution d’un exercice ou d’une opération manuelle doit
être précédée :
— par une étude des difficultés à vaincre par l’apprenti ;
— par la recherche de la méthode à employer pour la conduite
du travail et des moyens matériels à utiliser ;
— par le choix des moyens de contrôle pour chaque opéra-
tion et en fin de travail.

[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. The official program goes on to say that the importance of technology and its close link with workshop work are to be brought out during these preparatory studies, and that throughout the work the apprentice’s attention is to be drawn in general to the risks of industrial accidents and the safety measures to observe, with special mention of the risks peculiar to repair workshops, such as dangers of fire and of asphyxia or poisoning by exhaust gases. Nothing in this part of the syllabus is specific to the bicycle: it covers general bench fitting.]

[Text only: a ruled editorial panel. The standing section title “L’Apprentissage” is set in a large heavy upright script over three parallel rules. Below it “Le C. A. P. des OUVRIERS VÉLOCISTES-MOTOCISTES” runs across the width in light geometric sans-serif capitals and lower case, with “Son programme officiel (suite)” ranged right in sans-serif, “officiel” in italic. The program is set in two columns of a roman old-style serif with old-style figures; the section and sub-heads “8. — Technique de la réparation” and “1o Ajustage” are centered in bold, “Méthode de travail et travaux pratiques appliqués” in centered italic, and the lettered operations carry their names in italic with hanging indents. “(à suivre)” closes the right column in bold italic, above a heavy rule across the foot. There is no illustration and no signature. Text from the reverse of the leaf shows faintly through the paper.]
