Les productions MÉCANO

[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. The Établissements G. Cabrespines, marque Mécano, have made a specialty of cutting and stamping (découpage-emboutissage) all parts for cycles, motorcycles and even automobiles. Among their output the author singles out the series of mudguard flaps (bavettes), which exist in several models:]

— Bavette cyclomoteur extensible ;
— Bavette moto et cyclomoteur extensible ;
— Bavette vélo, extensible ;
— Bavette vélo, non extensible.

[Ebykr summary, continued. The firm also makes well-known oil-can holders (porte-bidons d’huile). The first model, for motorcycles, takes any can of one or two liters. For cyclomotors and scooters a special holder was created for one-liter cans, fixed to the front apron (tablier AV). Various clamps are provided: a black square one marked “Spécial Solex”, a round one for Mobylettes and all round or oval forks, and an adjustable one for the telescopic fork of cyclomotors and motorcycles of 175 cc. Oil-can holders with double fixed clamps for the telescopic fork of cyclomotors and motorcycles of 175 cc are also shown.]

[Ebykr summary, after the illustration. The footrests (repose-pieds) exist in several versions: a special slotted type or one with a sliding reinforcement for motorcycles, and similar devices with a central bolt suited in particular to Norton, B.M.W. and the like, able to carry a weight of 100 kg. The author closes by naming the other lines of the firm: toe clips (cale-pieds), maps (cartes), trouser clips (pince-pantalons), pump clips (attache-pompes), inflator clips (attache-gonfleurs), brake shoes (patins de freins), pedal wrenches (clés à pédales), luggage carriers (porte-bagages) and nail pullers (arrache-clous), in all a stock of equipment that the cycle dealer (Vélociste) who wants to be well supplied must have in his shop.]

[A column of text only, set in italic type with the heading “Les productions MÉCANO” in bold roman at the upper right, a few phrases in bold roman and the four bavette models set as a dashed list. In the middle of the column a boxed illustration framed by a thin black rule shows one line-engraved drawing, in black on a plain ground, of a metal bracket that clamps to a vertical tube: a tall rod and a cylindrical can stand upright, held by two clamps with bolts, and a ribbed cylindrical grip or footrest projects to the left from the central block. The drawing carries no caption, signature or address, and the column has no firm address block.]
