Les articles importés par William DUMONT — Les condensateurs Wildu — Les régulateurs de tension Wildu — Les indicateurs de direction Provid
This is a magazine article, so its running text is summarized here rather than reproduced; the headline, byline, specifications and scores are transcribed as printed.
From L’Officiel du cycle, du motocycle et du camping, 1 October 1955, N° 20, the paper’s special number before the Salon du Cycle at the Porte de Versailles, pages 191 and 193: “Les articles importés par William DUMONT”: Maico engines, motos and scooters; also pedals, chains, freewheel and coaster hubs Torpedo and Renak, lamps, dynamos, ball rings, Spirax derailleurs; then Wildu condensers and voltage regulators and Provid direction indicators. The title, headings, captions and lists are transcribed as printed; the text is summarized in Ebykr’s words, and the page images carry it in full.

Les articles importés par William DUMONT
[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. This year the Établissements William Dumont will show mainly, on their stand no. 147, the Maico products: engines, motorcycles and scooters, of which they now handle the import and general distribution in France. Apart from their usual imported articles, namely pedals, chains, freewheel hubs and brake of the marques Torpedo and Renak from the Usines de Reichenbach, plus lamps (« phares »), dynamos, ball rings (« bagues à billes ») and Spirax derailleurs, interesting novelties will be presented. The notice singles out three items, each introduced by a dash.]
— Les condensateurs Wildu
[Ebykr summary. The Wildu condensers are of extremely careful manufacture, absolutely sealed, working in an oil bath, and allow the rider to take the road without fear of an ignition failure. They exist in all models, adaptable to the different magnetic flywheels in use.]
— Les régulateurs de tension Wildu
[Ebykr summary. The notice says there is no need to remind users of the cyclomoteur, vélomoteur or scooter of the drawbacks, even the real dangers, caused by a bulb that burns out. Whatever the magnetic flywheel, a Wildu voltage regulator exists to suit it and can be fitted in a few minutes without even having to cut a wire. With this “inusable” device bulbs no longer burn out, since the voltage in the lighting circuit stays constant whatever the engine speed. Besides the dangers spared, a saving results that is all the more noticeable because the purchase price is hardly more than the value of two bulbs.]
— Les indicateurs de direction Provid
[Ebykr summary. The notice goes on that it is needless to dwell on the difficulty the driver of a two-wheeled vehicle has in signaling a change of direction. The item continues on the next image of this record.]
[A text-only column notice in a trade review, with no photograph or drawing. The heading, “Les articles importés par William DUMONT”, is set flush right in bold sans-serif type, with the surname in bold capitals. The body is set in italic roman type, with the firm name in small capitals in the first line and the three headed items opening with a dash and a bold sans-serif phrase, “Les condensateurs Wildu”, “Les régulateurs de tension Wildu” and “Les indicateurs de direction Provid”. The last line of the crop breaks off in the middle of the sentence on Provid. No signature, drawing or address line appears.]

[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. The notice continues the Provid direction-indicator paragraph: it is not necessary to dwell on the difficulty a two-wheeler driver has in signaling a change of direction. Holding out an arm or looking behind before turning causes the zigzag course so dreaded by motorists, which is the cause of many accidents. With this luxuriously presented, compact device, easily fixed on the mudguard or the registration plate, a few thumb presses on a button fixed to the handlebar make a luminous arrow blink; a blinking box can be added on request. The device also carries the regulation red light with lighting of the rear plate and a red « stop » light, and a repeater of the direction signals can be fixed at the front as on automobiles. The price of the Provid is extremely moderate, its interest will escape no one, and every driver should have it fitted for his safety.]
[A text-only continuation of a column notice in a trade review, with no photograph or drawing. The body is set in italic roman type, with the name Provid in plain roman type in the last paragraph. It begins in mid-sentence at the top edge, and the heading of the notice is on the preceding image. No signature, drawing or address line appears.]
