ÉCLAIRAGE ÉLECTRIQUE
POUR CYCLES

JOO

[Design: a hand-lettered advertisement in a plain ruled frame. A large black cloud shape with a wavy outline fills the upper part, and “ÉCLAIRAGE ÉLECTRIQUE POUR CYCLES” is lettered across it in white capitals set on a rising arc. A white five-pointed star, outlined in black, breaks out of the cloud at the upper right like a point of light. The name “JOO” sits at the bottom in huge white outlined capitals with a black drop shadow, the two “O”s drawn with solid black centers so that they read as wheels; fanned lines behind and between the letters and a ground line under them suggest the letters rolling along. No firm address, signature or agency mark.]

[This advertisement shares page 38 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for S.I.C.M.M.O. and Metalloplan, each held here as its own record, and others for Ferrand Fils clothing and gloves, Lipton AZA pistons, C.P.D.M. motorcycle parts, the Derny motorized bicycle, the Neiman lock and G. Poirier invalid carriages.]
