The upper half is a black panel listing the product lines in red heavy sans-serif capitals, each underlined in red, with their details beside them in white wide-set roman capitals on gray patches. “HUTCHINSON” runs across the foot of the black panel in very tall red condensed capitals. At the right a comic line drawing in black and white shows a bearded, shabby workman in a battered hat and polka-dot trousers bent over a wheel rim set on a wooden trestle, tying spokes or tape round it; it carries no visible signature. The lower half is pink, screened in fine red dots: “HUTCHINSON” repeats in tall black condensed capitals with “à l’Aigle” in black italic inside an oval, and the rubber goods are listed in black wide-set roman capitals. A black brush-stroke arrow lettered “Au Salon…” in white italic points down to a tilted framed halftone photograph of the firm’s Salon stand: a fascia lettered “Hutchinson” and a slogan in script, large comic figures riding bicycles along the back wall and tires and inner tubes displayed on racks and plinths below.
