DUNLOP

[A full-page advertisement in black halftone, with no running text. The page is a gray ground darkening to black at the foot, with a thin black line drawn as an inner frame with rounded corners. Three black rounded labels with white sans-serif capitals divide it into bands: “Pneus Velos” at the top (the P and V larger than the rest), “Velomoteurs” and “Et Motos”. Under each label, a row of circular photographic roundels shows close-ups of tire treads seen at a slant, each ringed in black: eight for bicycles in two rows of four (ribbed, plain, ribbed with cross slits and zigzag-sided treads), five for vélomoteurs in a staggered row (block and stud treads and one ribbed) and four for motorcycles (block and ribbed treads). The name “DUNLOP” closes the page in very large white slab-serif capitals on the black ground. An agency code reading “R.P.P. 234” (the first letter not certain) is set small and vertically, reading upward, in the margin at the lower right outside the frame. Faint show-through of text from the other side of the leaf is visible in the gray ground.]
