Gene Portuesi’s Cyclo-pedia, Eleventh Edition, is the 1974 catalog of the American importer and mail-order house then at 311 North Mitchell, Cadillac, Michigan, and this record holds seven of its pages: the cover, the ordering page that dates it, the Huret derailleurs, three pages of Spécialités TA cranks, chainrings, cleats and accessories, and the Idéale saddles. Page 1 prints the date, “Copyrighted in 1974 by Eugene Portuesi”, over a table of parcel post rates for March 1974. The catalog gives weights in ounces and the makers’ own reference numbers but no prices, which came on a separate price sheet that is not held. The price list shown with the scan on sheldonbrown.com belongs to a later book, the twelfth edition of 1981 issued from Midland, Michigan, and its page numbers do not match these pages. The pages come from the scan of the whole catalog on sheldonbrown.com, posted courtesy of the Portuesi family, enlarged for this record; sharper crops of pages 10 and 19 to 21 are on bulgier.net, Mark Bulgier’s archive.

HOW TO ORDER
To eliminate confusion and error in mailing:
For prices, consult the enclosed price sheet. Prices are subject to change without notice.
Orders with certified check or money order are processed immediately. Orders with personal check are held until check cleared. Do not make payments in cash or postage stamps.
Please make money orders or checks payable to “Cyclo-Pedia.”
Please USE the Cyclo-Pedia ORDER BLANK.
Everybody in same household, order under one name please.
Consult the table on shipping charges and insurance fees. Furnish enough remittance to cover the cost of shipping and insurance.
No phone orders please. The experienced personnel is not always available to answer the phone. Also the complexities of some of the mechanical problems require more thought than the 3 minute phone conversation allows. Finally, no order can be shipped without the full payment of merchandise. We can give you better and faster service when you write in your orders and inquiries.
Sorry, CANADIAN orders and C.O.D. orders CANNOT be accepted.
All sales are considered final. Merchandise or refunds will be considered only if merchandise has been shipped in error, or if client is exchanging for corrected items. Merchandise showing any signs of abuse or wear will not be accepted for refund or exchange. Original invoice must accompany all such transactions.
Delivery. We attempt at all times to give the quickest possible service. However, since over 90 percent of our illustrated merchandise is imported, a temporary shortage on certain items is inevitable. Where delay in filling your order is unavoidable, you’ll be immediately notified. However, rest assured that we are doing our utmost to give you the best possible service.
Claims. We are not responsible for damage or loss occurring in transit. Shipments are insured by the carrier and therefore, claims for damage or loss while in transit should be made immediately by you, the client, against the transit company.
All inquiries should be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope. Because of the ever increasing volume of correspondence concerning detailed information, we would appreciate when you’re requesting information to make it as brief as possible.
ALL ORDERS AND INQUIRIES SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO:
