CLEVELAND

[On a blue shield-shaped badge at the lower left:] CLEVELAND

[On a white label at the foot:]
AGENTS GÉNÉRAUX POUR LA SUISSE:
BRUEL FRÈRES à GENÈVE

[Printed below the label:] KUNSTANSTALT LANGEBARTELS & JÖRGENS, ALTONA.
[Signed at the lower left:] PAL.

[A rider in a feather headdress, bare-chested, in fringed white breeches and moccasins, raises a tomahawk in the right hand and rides a black diamond-frame bicycle with yellow-rimmed tires across a pale orange plain. Far behind on the horizon a few riders on horseback gallop away, and tall flowers and reeds stand in the lower left. CLEVELAND is lettered in blue outlined capitals across the top, with Cycles in blue script below it at the right.

Pal drew this for the general agents of the Cleveland bicycle in Switzerland, Bruel frères of Geneva, and the sheet was printed in Altona in Germany, not in Paris. The upper right corner is torn away.]
