CLEM SPECIAL

[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a horizontal panel inside a single heavy frame. The head line “FREINS C.L.E.M” is set in very large heavy sans-serif capitals across the top. At the left a side-pull caliper brake is drawn in line engraving with fine hatching, clamped around a fork crown and fork legs, with an arched arm lettered “CLEM” and “SPECIAL” along its curve, a cable-adjusting barrel and two rubber blocks. At the right a brake lever with its handlebar clip is drawn in the same manner, the long blade curving down the right edge. The center column carries “Tous Modèles” in italic sans-serif and the firm’s name, street, town and telephone in bold and italic sans-serif lines. No artist signature is visible. No text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]

[This advertisement shares page 136 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Hurtu, Marvel and Linart-Styla, each held here as its own record, and others for the Bottin du Cycle trade directory, Pareflex goggles and Larpenteur hand protectors and club pennants.]
