[A small ruled advertisement, wider than it is tall, in black and white, framed by a heavy rule. “FREINS C.L.E.M” runs across the head in large heavy sans-serif capitals. Two line engravings flank the type: at the left a caliper brake seen from the front, clamped to a fork crown with the blades and the rim drawn in fine ruled hatching, the brake arms lettered CLEM on the left arm and SPECIAL on the yoke, with the shoes and the adjusting barrel shown; at the right a brake lever on its handlebar clamp seen from the side, the bar drawn in heavy outline with the hooded lever and its long blade hanging down the right margin. The words “Tous Modèles” sit between them in light sans-serif, with the firm’s name below in heavy sans-serif capitals, then the street address in a lighter sloped sans-serif, the town in heavy capitals and the telephone on the last line. No second color is used, no signature or agency mark appears, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
[This advertisement shares page 148 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Piat, Ateliers du Dorlay and Clément-Bayard, each held here as its own record.]
