[A ruled advertisement in black and white, a wide panel inside a heavy double-weight border. “FREINS C.L.E.M” runs across the top in very large heavy sans-serif capitals. At the left a caliper brake is drawn in fine line engraving with cross-hatched shading, fitted round a fork crown and two fork blades, with a cable and its adjuster rising at the right of the caliper and two brake blocks at the lower end; the arch carries tiny lettering that appears to read “CLEM” and “SPECIAL”. At the right a brake lever with a long curved blade is drawn on a short length of handlebar. Between the drawings stand slanted italic words for the models, the firm name in bold capitals with the abbreviated “Cie” raised, the Lyon street address, the town in large capitals and the telephone line in italic. A sliver of the border of the neighboring advertisement shows along the lower edge of the crop. No artist signature or monogram is visible.]
[This advertisement shares its unnumbered page of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Gnutti, held here as its own record, and others for Motowest and Vélowest lighting units for vélomoteurs, H2T two-stroke oil and the Alma cyclomoteur.]
