[A full-page advertisement in black and white with a hand-lettered script headline across the top, “De la lunette au tand-sad”, in heavy brush strokes. The sheet is divided by a vertical rule into a wide left column and a narrower right column. At the upper left a line engraving of a pair of molded rubber goggles is drawn in three-quarter view with fine hatching on the lens and a ribbed elastic strap; the maker’s name “BUT” is stamped in a small oval on the brow. Its caption below is set in light sans-serif type with the name of the material in larger capitals. Beneath it a second line engraving shows a double-pad saddle with a basket-weave pattern on the seat, a rubber-sprung bracket and a flat frame, again with the “BUT” oval stamped on the rubber block; its caption is centered below in a lighter weight. In the right column eight small engraved rubber parts are stacked, each with a condensed capitals label beneath: a ribbed bicycle grip, a finer-patterned grip for motorcycles and cyclomoteurs, three fluted foot and lever blocks of decreasing size, a corrugated fork gaiter, an oval fluted knee grip and a small chain-sprocket cushion. A loose ink drawing of a helmeted and goggled rider crouched on a leaning motorcycle fills the lower center of the page, drawn in quick brush lines with speed marks. To its right the words “CATALOGUE COMPLET SUR DEMANDE” are set in spaced capitals. At the lower left the BUT monogram stands as a ringed emblem, with the letters in outlined, shaded capitals inside a circle crossed by cross-hairs. A broad black band across the foot carries the firm’s name in large white condensed capitals, with its address and telephone numbers in white below. Under the band the words “Vente Exclusive aux Grossistes” are set in script at the left and “S. P. P.” in small capitals at the right. No artist signature is visible, and no text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
