PUB. S.O.S.P.
[A tall narrow advertisement in black on cream, its border drawn as the product itself: a single sheathed cable runs up the left side, across the top and down the right, its surface shown as a close spiral of fine lines, with a stripped end unraveling into bare strands at the top left and a ferruled terminal at the top right. The trade name heads the panel in heavy sans serif capitals with two lines of bold sans serif italic under it. The body is set in a light sans serif, several lines picked out in bold, broken into short paragraphs with hanging word division at the line ends, the number abbreviation carried as a small superior. The firm’s name stands near the foot in large letter-spaced sans serif capitals, the raised “TS” set small, over the street, town, department and telephone number. At the lower left the cable loops into a large circle like a magnifying glass, inside which the sheath is drawn cut away to show the wires within, labeled “Gaine acier” in a sloping script. The agency mark “PUB. S.O.S.P.” is set in very small capitals reading upward in the right margin inside the cable border. No second color and no artist’s signature appear.]
[This advertisement shares page 172 of L’Officiel du cycle with advertisements for Duprat, Bufflier, ALC, Maxi-Car, EMD, NAP and Elté, each held here as its own record.]
