Classic Rendezvous West 2026
The show and the swap fill one room in Davis, CA for a single Saturday, October 3: three rows of bicycles down the middle, swap tables around the walls and a corral of whole machines outside. A social ride follows on Sunday morning. Admission is free. Everything you need in order to enter a bicycle, take a table or simply turn up is below.
What it is
Classic Rendezvous West is a one-day gathering of classic and vintage lightweight bicycles in Davis, built around three things happening in the same room: a judged show, a swap meet and a bike corral for whole machines that are for sale. A social ride follows on Sunday morning.
It carries the Classic Rendezvous name. Dale Brown started Classic Rendezvous as an email group and then, in 1997, as a website. It has been the gathering point in North America ever since for people who care about hand-built lightweight bicycles and the marques that made them. The West Coast edition is organized by Guy Apple.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome and go toward the cost of the hall. If they cover it the organizer intends to refund the show and table fees to the people who paid them.

Sunday, October 4 — the ride
A vintage bicycle ride at a genuinely social pace. Davis is flat and the route uses low-traffic roads, so this is a ride for the bicycle you brought to the show rather than a test of fitness. The time and the route will be announced before the event.
Entering a bicycle in the show
Bicycles are displayed in three rows down the center of the room. The field is capped at 35 to 40 machines. Entry is $30 per bicycle, with a maximum of two per person.
The field is divided into six categories and only six bicycles per category will be accepted. Places go first come, first served, so a category can close well before the deadline.

To enter, email Guy Apple the details of your bicycle — marque, model, year and which category it belongs in — and pay the fee before the deadline.
Judging is done by the people who attend, not by a panel. Whatever is parked next to you is your competition. The person deciding is the one leaning in to look at your bottom bracket shell.
Taking a swap table
Tables run around the perimeter of the room. A table is $50 and includes a six-foot table and a chair. There are 19 of them, which is the real limit on this event — the room does not have a twentieth wall.
Whole bicycles for sale go in the bike corral instead, at $20 per bicycle. The corral is outside the building and is watched by Classic Rendezvous volunteers through the day.
The room
The Multi-Purpose Room at the Veterans Memorial Center is 60 feet by 80 feet, with the lobby on one long wall and the kitchen on the other. Bicycles occupy the center and tables the walls. The admin desk sits at the south end, where you check in.
How to enter and pay
- Email Guy Apple at guy.apple00@gmail.com and say what you want: a bicycle in the show (with its details and category), a swap table, a corral space, or some combination. That link opens a message with the details he needs already laid out.
- Wait for his confirmation. Show categories are capped at six bicycles and tables at 19, so confirmation is what secures the place, not payment.

Ebykr at Classic Rendezvous West
Eric Anschutz, who writes Ebykr, will be there across several tables with a spread drawn from his own collection: bicycles and parts across eras, countries and every phase of restoration, put out as a curated display rather than a pile of stock.
He will be selling from it, which is worth saying plainly. If you read this site, come and find the tables, say hello and bring whatever you have been trying to identify.

Davis sits off Interstate 80 between Sacramento and the Bay Area. It is one of the few American towns genuinely built around the bicycle. Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor stops downtown, about a mile from the hall and the whole ride from the station is flat.
