LAMPE NORMA

LA LAMPE DE QUALITÉ POUR CYCLES ET MOTOS

[A full-panel advertisement in black and cream, drawn as a coarse dot screen with solid black silhouettes. The whole panel is a dark gray dot-screened field. Across the top a black ribbon-shaped banner, torn at its ends, carries the words “LAMPE NORMA” in large cream sans-serif capitals, with an underline stroke running from the initial “L” and an overline from the “N”. In the center a large cream disc of light holds two black silhouettes seen from behind and above: a helmeted man on a motorcycle at the left, with the round headlamp showing at the front wheel, and a woman cyclist at the right with windblown hair, a short jacket and a basket on the handlebars. A triangular cream beam spreads from the front of the motorcycle down to the lower left, and a pale tilted rectangular patch with a ridged edge lies at the right behind the cyclist. A solid black band across the foot carries the slogan in cream condensed capitals. A tiny signature-like monogram of interlaced letters, too small to read with certainty, is boxed in an octagonal frame at the upper right corner of the panel. No firm address appears.]

[This advertisement shares page 202 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for R.F.G., held here as its own record, and others for Ferrebœuf Frères and Lelaurain.]
