PRODUCTION DES ANCIENS Ets PAUL MAURY
1 Pl. d’Estienne d’Orves Paris 9e Tri. 56-77 – Usine à Louviers (Eure)

Hall du Cycle : Stand 60.

[A ruled landscape advertisement in black and white built around two arrows. At the upper left the word “mécanique” and three dots are set in heavy shadowed lowercase type above a long arrow pointing right toward a halftone photograph of a dome-shaped bicycle bell on three short feet, with a small round striker pad on a short arm at its left. Below, “électrique” and three dots sit above a second long arrow pointing left toward a second halftone photograph at the left of an electric horn: a round slotted grille with a central boss, a deep rounded housing and a bent mounting bracket with two holes. Under the arrow “nouveau !” is set in heavy shadowed italic, with a line of lighter type beneath it, and at the lower right “… la qualité ” le Coq “” is set in very large heavy shadowed letters, reached by a tall vertical arrow that runs down the right edge from the top. A black band cut into the foot of the border carries the firm’s name, address, telephone and factory town in white spaced capitals. A single line of small type below the panel gives the stand number. Faint reversed lines of text from the other side of the leaf show through below the panel and a gray smudge marks its lower right corner. There is no artist signature.]

[This advertisement shares page 150 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Reydel, held here as its own record.]
