[A ruled advertisement in black and white, set in a tall narrow panel inside a heavy single border, with a second heavy rule across the foot above a last line of small type. The opening lines, “La fameuse marque de motocyclettes”, are set in bold widely spaced sans-serif type, centered over a large circular emblem: a thick ring open at the right, enclosing a bold angular letter Z with a small hooked letter C above it and a dot at the right. The headings “VÉLO” and “FAVORIT” and the word “CHAINES” are in large bold capitals in quotation marks, with the specifications beneath in lighter spaced type. Three line engravings of roller chain, each seen at a slant with fine hatching, are stacked down the middle; the first two bear the word “Velo” in script on their plates and the third bears “favorit”. Below, a larger line engraving shows a rear hub with a toothed sprocket, rows of spoke holes in both flanges, a nut and axle end at the right and a lettered script mark on its barrel, resting on a flat fork end whose arm carries a line of script lettering. A small monogram that reads DR, drawn in thin strokes, stands just below the axle nut at the right of the drawing. The Salon notice follows in bold sans-serif capitals above a short rule, then “Distributeurs exclusifs :” in light type, the importer’s name in large bold capitals with a raised “ie”, and the address line. A last line of small roman capitals under the border gives the hall and stand numbers. No text from the reverse of the leaf shows through.]
[This advertisement shares page 186 of L’Officiel du cycle with an advertisement for Berko, held here as its own record, and one for Sudex lubrication equipment.]
