[Ebykr summary; the article’s text is not reproduced. The notice says that this magnificent poster (32 × 42), in two colors, published under the patronage of the « Fédération Nationale des Vélocistes et Motocistes » (F.N.V.M.), is a remarkable instrument of propaganda for the bicycle and receives an enthusiastic welcome in France and abroad. It is sent at the unit price of 60 francs (10 copies for 550 francs), postage included, by the Éditions S.O.S.P., 59, avenue de la Grande-Armée, Paris (16e), C.C.P. Paris 7336-22. Each Vélociste has the duty to put it up in his shop and to display it in his locality.]
[A notice in two parts. At the right, a headline set in a roman face with a slab-serif look: “VÉLOCISTES” in large spaced capitals, “faites de la” in lower case, “PROPAGANDE” and “BICYCLETTE !” in heavy capitals and “en faveur de la” in lower case, with a short rule beneath, then three paragraphs of justified roman text. At the left stands a reproduction of the two-color poster, a tall panel with a gray-brown halftone ground. Across its head, in heavy dark capitals, runs “BERNARD L’ERMITE ?”, and below it “DÉFINITION :” and a three-line definition in light sans-serif capitals reversed out of the ground. In the middle a hermit crab is drawn in fine stipple and line shading, sitting inside the outline of a modern open car whose body is traced in a single light line, with a headlamp, bumper grille and wheels. Beneath the car, a paragraph of light bold sans-serif text addresses the motorist, and the last line leads into the word “VÉLO”, set in very large black slab-serif capitals that overlap the foot of the panel. Along the bottom edge four small gray silhouettes of cyclists on bicycles, two women at the left and two men at the right, each with one arm raised, flank the word. A vertical signature in light lettering runs up the right edge of the poster panel, too coarse in the halftone to read with certainty. The poster is credited to no agency mark apart from the notice naming the Éditions S.O.S.P. as seller.]
