[The front cover, printed in black and green on a cream ground inside a broad green border. At the top, a boxed masthead: the title “L’OFFICIEL” in tall condensed black capitals, the subtitle in heavy sans-serif capitals and the line “NUMÉRO SPÉCIAL DU SALON 1951” in green; the founder’s credit sits small at the upper left of the box. Below, a second black-ruled panel fills the rest of the cover with an advertisement for Favor: the name in green Art Nouveau-style lettering at the top center, flanked by the cyclomoteur and vélomoteur/moto engine lines in black capitals; a large halftone photograph of the C.P.N. cyclomoteur, a step-through frame with the “Favor” name on the down tube, a Poulain cyclo-bloc engine at the bottom bracket (the name “Le Poulain” cast on its casing), a tank or toolbox with a round badge on the seat tube, a sprung saddle, a welded rear carrier, a fender-mounted headlamp, balloon tires and drum-brake hubs. A green arrow rises from a green disc below the engine, the disc carrying the Poulain engine text; the specification text runs in two blocks either side of it, with the Salon stand line beneath, and a rule above the bottom line with the agents’ line and the factory address. No signature or agency mark. A red rectangular “D.L.” date stamp, its date partly illegible (it seems to read “10 … 1951”), is struck at the upper left of the photograph, and a faint red round library stamp at the right beside the rear wheel; both are later marks on this copy.]
